Privacy policy
This page explains what personal data this website handles, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Who operates this website
dampproofingboston.co.uk is operated by Patrick Robinson, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, referred to below as the operator. The operator is the data controller for enquiries made through this site. Contact the operator through the contact page.
What data is collected
- Enquiry form: your name, phone number, the area you give, and the message you write.
- Phone calls: calls to the number on this site may be recorded. A short notice tells you this before the call is connected. The recording captures your number, the time of the call and what is said.
Nothing else is collected. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and uses no tracking of any kind, which is why you see no cookie banner. The only third-party request the site makes is to load its typeface from Google Fonts.
Why the data is collected and used
Enquiry details and call recordings exist for one purpose: connecting you with the vetted local damp specialist so they can respond to your enquiry and quote for work. Call recordings are additionally kept to check service quality and to resolve any dispute about what was said. The lawful basis is legitimate interest in fulfilling the enquiry you chose to make.
Who your data is shared with
Your enquiry details, name, phone number, area and message, are passed to one vetted, independent local damp specialist, who will contact you to discuss your enquiry. Once passed, that firm handles your data as a data controller in its own right for the purposes of quoting and carrying out work. Your data is not sold, and it is not shared with any other marketing party.
How long data is kept
- Enquiry form submissions are retained for up to 12 months from the date of the enquiry, then deleted.
- Call recordings are retained for up to 6 months, then deleted.
- Data may be kept longer only where needed to deal with an ongoing complaint or legal claim.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data held about you
- ask for inaccurate data to be corrected
- ask for your data to be deleted
- object to or ask for restriction of processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact the operator via the contact page. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by post to Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
